We’re learning about PLANTS this year in science class in our homeschool, and one of the things that we love about homeschooling is taking frequent field trips. We try to take one every week, but sometimes it doesn’t happen if I get too busy (or plan poorly). This past week we went on a field trip to a local greenhouse to learn about plants, and just before I was leaving, I thought it would be fun to make a little scavenger hunt for the kids. We used to do the Lowe’s Build & Grow workshops with Connor when we lived in Tennessee, and I really missed it during our time overseas. If you don’t know about it, it’s awesome! You just sign up online, head to the store at the right time, and your kids get to build something for FREE! They get an apron, some goggles, the project, and a certificate to take home. They also get a patch for each project completed! In September, we built binoculars and fire trucks. And did I mention it’s FREE?!? You can sign up at http://lowesbuildandgrow.com/!
