Grand Adventures!

Living a life of adventure on a frugal budget! ~ Our Cozy Den

The past three months have been a whirlwind of adventure! I can’t wait to share more of it with you!

I’ve had the opportunity to do some amazing things, including visiting 5 new countries (Sweden, Finland, Honduras, Belize, & Mexico) and checking FOUR things off my bucket list (skydiving, family cruise, visiting Chichen Itza, and seeing Ik-Kil Cenote). I can’t wait to share photos and lessons learned from all of these fabulous experiences. Now, after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we are settling back into life as normal, and trying to get into our routine.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the upcoming blog posts I have planned:

√ A look at the homeschool curriculum we’re using in 2018 for 7th, 5th, 3rd, and 1st grades
√ How to get an *amazing* deal on a family cruise
√ What I learned from my trip to Sweden and the incredible people there
√ How I use Story of the World history with multiple grade levels (and a HUGE giveaway bundle of 8+ SOTW books!)
√ Goals for 2018 and how to achieve them {I routinely make my New Years Resolutions a reality every year, I’ll share how!}
√ Some new low-carb and frugal family-friendly recipes
+ and lots, lots more!

Blogging ⬇️

While I do have great plans for the year ahead, I also have a lot of things going on at home that means blogging is definitely a lower priority than it once was.

  • Homeschooling is a whole new ballgame this year, with my oldest in 7th grade (doing some high school-level work) and my youngest in 1st grade (adding several new subjects but still needing a lot of help). It can be exhausting!
  • 2017 was a horrible year for me health-wise, dealing with near-constant pain and ailments. I’m taking back control by adjusting my dietary choices, which takes up a lot of time, energy, & extra planning.
  • I’m also working on writing a few novels (eek!), which I do during some of the time I used to spend on blogging regularly.
  • The ministry that our family has started is taking off like a rocket ship, which has been an extraordinary experience, both for us and for the college students we work with.
  • I have another mission trip to Sweden later this year, and I’m working for 30+ minutes a day on learning Swedish to enhance my impact there.
  • And lastly, my husband should be getting military orders sometime this year for us to move… somewhere! We have no idea when or where, but we should have about 60-90 days notice, and could move anywhere in the world.

Even with all of this craziness going on, I do hope to try to get out a post every week or so. My list of blog-posts-to-write is over 100 long, so I have no shortage of ideas, only time!

I’m looking forward to the year ahead  2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣8️⃣

Thank you all for sticking with me! I cherish the support and prayers of each and every one of you!

~~I want to hear from you~~
Let me know, either in the comments below or on social media, which posts to you want to hear first! I can certainly make your desires a priority!
