Best of Our Cozy Den!

You guys, I am so humbled and excited to have been chosen as Best Local Mom Blogger by a local publication, Findlay Area Family magazine. They do an annual survey of local parents, and I won Best Blog for the second year in a row! This year, I also added Best Local Instagram and Best Local Pinterest!

Best of Our Cozy Den!

Since I have a lot of new people stopping by, I thought it would be fun to do a quick tour and rundown of my most popular posts over the years!

I’ve been blogging since 2009 — WOW, seven years! I’m not one of the biggest or busiest blogs out there. There are certainly some huge ones that I read and love. But my focus here at Our Cozy Den is not stats or numbers. I try to focus on sharing good, quality information, without my family suffering in the process. It’s not always easy. Being a blogger is hard work, and there are many times when I find myself slipping into bad habits: ignoring the kids to respond to comments, feeling like needing to write a blog post takes priority over doing schoolwork, etc. The need for success and to perform feels crushing sometimes in today’s world of social media and self-comparison.

But all that is to say thank you. Thank you to all of you who have stuck by me through the years. Thank you for coming back and reading, for sharing and subscribing, for supporting and inspiring, for being patient when I take a day (or a week) off, and for being with me through it all!

I wouldn’t be here without you guys!

So here are my top 10 most visited pages & posts, in descending order!

Why we're NOT saving for college ~ Our Cozy Den

As much as I talk about saving money, to share that we are NOT saving for our kids’ college is often a shocker! It doesn’t make sense for our family, and here is why!

#4: Weekly Menus

Weekly Menus from Our Cozy Den ~ Feeding a family of 6 on under $175 a month!

We feed our family of 6 for under $175 a month! It sounds crazy, I know! We haven’t always been this low: it’s been a series of small changes over time that have decreased our food budget more and more. On this page, you can see all of our weekly menus and food receipts, which I have been posting for about a year.

#3: DIY Lego Table

lego table

This post is by far my most viral post on Pinterest, with over 25,000 pins! I wrote it when I made my first Lego table, but we now have FOUR Lego tables in our home for our little Lego enthusiasts! And why not, when they are this cheap and easy to make?!

#2: Meet the Family

I guess people are curious to see who we are! I get it, I am too. The “About Me” page on any blog is usually my first stop. A great way to get to know my family better is by following our daily adventures on Instagram too!

How our family of six lives on $550 a month! ~ Our Cozy Den

It’s no secret that saving money is my favorite thing to share about. I get tons of questions and inquiries about our budget. I do my best to be as transparent as possible with all areas of our finances — to help other people get to the good place we are in!

Thank you!
