DIY Banana Flavored Oatmeal

DIY Banana Flavored Oatmeal ~ Our Cozy Den

My family eats eggs or oatmeal for breakfast pretty much every day. It’s healthier and cheaper! For the oatmeal, my kids like it flavored — of course, who likes plain oatmeal?! Sometimes they put in peanut butter, brown sugar, & cinnamon. I have another recipe {not yet published} for DIY apples & cinnamon oatmeal. Today I’m going to show you how I make banana oatmeal — it tastes just like the bananas & cream packets, but it’s a ton cheaper and healthier (no preservatives)!

Ingredients:
  • 1 big canister of quick oats (42 oz)
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 bag banana chips (12 oz)
  • 2 cups of white sugar
Directions:

Use a blender to chop up the banana chips into a powder. Do small batches at a time so it all chops evenly.

Mix together the ground banana chips and the remaining ingredients. Stir well. DIY Banana Flavored Oatmeal ~ Our Cozy Den

Store in an airtight container. If ingredients begin to settle, then shake it up again! DIY Banana Flavored Oatmeal ~ Our Cozy Den

I keep a little scoop in the container, and my kids are able to prepare it themselves in the morning (less work for me!). All you need to do is add water and microwave for 1 minute!
