February Bulk Shop (& February Grocery Totals!)

Bulk Shopping at GFS ~ Our Cozy Den

When I post my menus each week, I always share that the majority of my groceries come from my bulk shops at Gordon Food Service. If you haven’t considered buying in bulk, I highly recommend it! I buy huge 30-50 pound bags of brown rice, flour, popcorn, and other dry items. I get bulk spices, oil, oatmeal, nuts, chicken, cheese, eggs, pasta, and pretty much every staple in my fridge, freezer, and pantry.

Take a look at what I bought this month, and how long I expect it to last!

Bulk Shopping at Gordon Food Service ~ Our Cozy Den

  • Huge can of spaghetti sauce, which I will re-can into smaller containers (4 months)
  • Shortening (1 year)
  • Colby jack cheese snack sticks (2 months)
  • Parmesan cheese (1 year)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (2 months)
  • Sugar substitute — because I can’t have real sugar, I use this occasionally for a treat (1 year)
  • Mozzarella sticks (1 month) {this one was an indulgence for me!}

Total spent on this trip: $71.61

Other grocery totals for the month:

February 21st-27th: $0

February 14th–20th: $20.32

February 7th–13th: $14.28

January 31st – February 6th: $19.01

Total grocery bill for February: $125.22! This is well below my budgeted $175/month — having these weeks where I do “pantry cleanout” really help to bring the total down!
