My November Bulk Shop

Bulk Shopping at GFS ~ Our Cozy Den

Some of my pantry stores were running pretty low, so I had a BIG bulk shop at GFS this month. I also found some great prices on some produce items, like apples and bananas, which are usually part of my weekly fill-in shops at Walmart.

So let’s take a look at what I bought, and how long I expect it to last:

Weekly Menus from Our Cozy Den ~ Feeding a family of 6 on under $250 a month!

  • 25 pound bag of brown rice — 24 months
  • huge box of bulk tortilla chips — 1-2 months
  • cheese sticks — 2-3 months
  • 2 large bags of shredded cheese (1 mexican blend and 1 cheddar) — 2-3 months
  • 30 pack of yogurt — 1 month
  • bananas — 1 week
  • apples — 2-3 weeks
  • 25 pound bag of flour — 12 months
  • giant pumpkin pie spice — several years {side note on this item — I was all prepared to buy the ingredients to make some pumpkin pie spice from scratch, but I found this huge canister at a great price, and it was WAY cheaper than buying the individual ingredients. Now I never have to buy those overpriced TINY McCormick ones again!}

In total, I spent $110.98, which isn’t bad considering that I got SO much cheese… cheese is expensive! You can see this page to check out my other bulk shops at Gordon Food Service!
