Croatian Getaway * part 3

Day 3 of our trip to Croatia was our day in Plitvice Lakes National Park. This place was the whole reason we decided to go here and it did not disappoint.

Words can not describe the beauty. I was in awe the whole time I was there, literally choked up and emotional, just from being in such an amazing place.

First, I’m going to show you the layout of the park, so you can sort of understand how it’s set up:

There are several lakes in a valley, and one dumps into the next, and the next, and so on. There are thousands of waterfalls. Just when you think you've seen them all, there's another. Rick Steves described it "like sprinkling Niagara Falls over the Grand Canyon and surrounding it by a lush green forest."

Obviously, I can’t post all of the 200 photos I took in the park, so I’ll try to narrow it down. Seriously, the pictures do not do it justice. It was so awe-inspiring!

In some places, the waterfalls actually gushed out onto the steps.

DSC_0154DSC_0170I just loved the winding paths and steps throughout the park.
