Barcelona, Spain – Days 3 & 4

Here is the rest of the story of our recent trip to Barcelona. If you need to catch up, you can read about days 1 and 2 here.

Day 3, our bus tickets were expired, so now we’re traveling by metro, Barcelona’s subway system. I’ve only been on two other subway systems before, London and Paris, and Barcelona blew them both out of the water. It was SO CLEAN! There was no trash on the floor, and I saw tons of people cleaning the floors and walls. They keep their subway nice!

After breakfast, we all headed out to the Barcelona Aquarium. The kids had never been to an aquarium before, so it was one of the places I really wanted to take them. The prices were insanely expensive, over $100 for 4 of us (Bunches was free).

There were TONS of sharks at this aquarium!

I said “It’s eating you, make a scared face!”

After we left the aquarium, we walked a few blocks through the city and had a big authentic Spanish lunch.

Of course, the kids were super excited to see a REAL pirate ship in the marina!
The Christopher Columbus monument, located at the site where he returned from his first trip to the Americas.

Then we went back to the hotel for naps again. This time, we didn’t head out anywhere in the evening. We knew we had another early morning the next day, so we bought some dinner food at the grocery store and went to bed early.

On the bus back to the airport: Squirrel is such a sweet sister!
This slide in the airport was a big hit!
This is about how we all felt on the way home.
